発音： マイ・スィスター・ライクス・リーディング
意味： 私の姉（妹）は読書が好きです。

My sister likes reading. (my sister likes reading)

2．These are her books.

発音： ディーズ・アー・ハー・ブックス
意味： これらは彼女の本です。

These are her books. (these are her books)

3．This is my bag, and that’s yours.

発音： ディス・イズ・マイ・バッグ、アン・ザッツ・ユアーズ
意味： これは私のバッグで、あれはあなたのものです。

This is my bag, and that's yours. (this is my bag, and that's yours)

4．My sisters go to the same school.

発音： マイ・スィスターズ・ゴウ・トゥ・ザ・セイム・スクール
意味： 私の姉妹は同じ学校に通っています。

My sisters go to the same school. (my sisters go to the same school)

5．Their school is big.

発音： ゼア・スクール・イズ・ビッグ
意味： 彼女たちの学校は大きいです。

6．Miwa and Yuri live together.

発音： ミワ・アン・ユリ・リヴ・トゥゲザー
意味： ミワとユリは一緒に暮らしています。

発音： ディス・ハウス・イズ・ゼアーズ
意味： この家は彼女たちのものです。

This house is theirs. (this house is theirs)

発音のポイント

• readingは「リーディング」です。

• 「住む」という意味のliveは「ライブ」ではなく、リヴと発音します。

• theirは「ゼア」、theirsは「ゼアーズ」に近い発音です。

• andは会話では弱くなり、「アンド」よりアンに近く聞こえます。

✅答えと解説

1. likes
   My sisterは三人称単数なので、likeにsをつけます。

2. her
   her booksで「彼女の本」です。herの後ろには名詞を置けます。

3. That’s yours.
   yoursは「あなたのもの」です。後ろにbagは必要ありません。

4. go
   My sistersは複数なので、動詞にsをつけません。

5. Their
   姉妹は複数なので「彼女たちの」はtheirです。

6. live
   Miwa and Yuriは二人なので複数扱いになり、liveを使います。

7. This house is theirs.
   theirsは「彼女たちのもの」という所有代名詞です。

8. This house is theirs.
   their houseは、所有代名詞theirsで言い換えられます。

覚えておきたい違い

名詞の前に置く	「～のもの」と単独で使う
my bag	mine
your bag	yours
her bag	hers
their house	theirs

your・her・theirの後ろには名詞が必要ですが、yours・hers・theirsは名詞なしで使えます。
